We have extended our Pro-Ject Pick it lineup and are happy to announce the Pick it MC9 as part of our complete new MC cartridge range. Our goal was to create cartridges which technically match our tonearms and reach our vision of sound. Each Pick it MC cartridge pursues a different sound character, but all follow the same main goal to preserve a precise and musical reproduction of vinyl records.
The Pick it MC9 delivers music in highest accuracy. A detailed sound stage, highly dynamic and rhythmic are just a few keywords to describe this cartridge. It is optimised for highly dynamic music like Jazz and Classic.

The Pick it MC9 uses a Pro-Ject specific „Special-Elliptical“ to capture all details of the groove. The cantilever is cryogenically treated, which realigns the crystal structure and allows a smoother signal transmission. The cross coil is made of Telar 57 pure iron with 6N linear crystal copper winding. It offers an output voltage of 0,35 mV and works best with a tracking force of 1,8 grams/mN.
Unique design
The body of the Pick it MC9 is made out of aluminium which is anodised in a beautiful black finish which ensures a superior built quality and longevity. The 1/2 inch mounting standard allows easy top-mounting with the threaded mounting holes. The included transparent stylus protector is easily slid onto the cartridge from the bottom to protect the needle when needed.
We were able to source high quality Japanese parts to design this outstanding cartridge. The assembly and quality control is done in Europe to ensure the highest possible sound quality.
You find all needed tools like screws and hex key in the box to mount the MC9. We recommend one of our „Measure it“ tracking force gauge and an „Align it“ to properly adjust the cartridge to reach the highest possible performance it is built for.
