Are there different vinyl formulations and material differences? Can Pro-Ject Audio Systems be held liable for any damage caused by the use of Flatten it?
Due to the wide variety of vinyl formulations and the inability to determine the prior condition, treatment, or heat exposure history of individual vinyl records, Pro-Ject Audio Systems disclaims any and all liability for damage to records resulting from the use of the Flatten it device. This includes, but is not limited to, records that are new or unused, as the composition and integrity of the vinyl material cannot be independently verified by Pro-Ject Audio Systems. While extensive internal testing has been conducted using a broad range of records and prolonged heat cycles—during which no damage was observed, and all tested records could be flattened—individual results may vary. It may also not be possible to successfully flatten each and every record, new or used, for the reasons stated above. Accordingly, the use of the Flatten it device is undertaken solely at the user‘s own risk. By using this product, the user accepts full responsibility and liability for any potential damage to their records.
